Opinion of the Advocate General

Mr Advocate General Darmon delivered his Opinion on 1 March 1989. He proposed that the Court should:

i) declare the application inadmissible in relation to the suspension of salary for the period from 1 August 1983 to 20 August 1984;

ii) order the European Parliament to pay the deductions from salary made in respect of the period from 3 July 1985 to 13 March 1986 together with interest at 8% per annum on the sums from the dates on which they fell due;

iii) dismiss the remainder of the application;

iv) order the defendant institution to pay half of the applicant's costs in addition to bearing its own costs.
