AMC1 145.A.20 Terms of approval and scope of work

The following table identifies the ATA Specification 2200 chapter for the category C component rating. If the maintenance manual (or equivalent document) does not follow the ATA Cchapters, the corresponding subjects still apply to the applicable C rating.

The rating for an organisation approved for the maintenance of an electric engine that powers a propeller/rotor to generate thrust and/or lift for the aircraft should be B4, rather than C5.

C23 should be used as component rating when C1 to C22 or the corresponding ATA chapters are not adequate for the component; for instance, in case of innovative aircraft architectures/systems.

  2. In amended, and in particular in existing (that is, unchanged) text, ‘Agency’ is used interchangeably with ‘EASA’. The interchangeable use of these two terms is more apparent in the consolidated versions. Therefore, please note that both terms refer to the ‘European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)’.
