EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The following document is published as the resulting text of NPA 2011-07 and the comments/answers received/provided further to the NPA, shown in the related Comment Response Document (CRD 2011-07). The NPA aimed at updating the list of ratings with new models known at the moment of the NPA. The text shown in the following pages lists type ratings in 13 lists as in the Annex to Decision 2011/003/R that it replaces. However, a new regulation (EU) No 1149/2011 has been published on 16 November 2011 which amends Part-66 and in particular the grouping of type ratings. As a result, this Appendix I to AMC will be published as a part of the new AMC/GM to Part-66 and will be aligned with the new three groups of ratings defined by this European Union Regulation. The method for converting the licences to the new group ratings is described in this European Union Regulation.

APPENDIX I

AIRCRAFT TYPE RATINGS FOR PART-66 AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE LICENCE

The following aircraft type ratings should be used to ensure a common standard throughout the Member States.

The inclusion of an aircraft type in the licence does not indicate that the aircraft type has been granted a type certificate under the Basic Regulation and its Implementing Rules; this list is intended for maintenance purposes only.

In order to keep this list current and type ratings consistent, any relevant information shall be first passed on to the Agency (via394" left="370" width="400" height="18" font="5">394" left="770" width="47" height="18" font="2">413" left="85" width="615" height="18" font="2">case a Member State needs to issue a type rating that is not included in this list.

Notes on when the licences should be modified: When a modification is introduced by this Decision to an aircraft type rating or to an engine designation in the rating which affects licences already issued, the ratings on the AML licences may be modified in the next renewal or when the licence is re-issued, unless there is an urgent reason to modify the licence. In the following table, the groups of aircraft are defined as follows:

Column 1 includes the TC holder as defined in the TCDS (EASA, FAA or other). For aeroplanes of group 1 and 2 and helicopters, the column 2 includes the aircraft models as defined in the relevant TCDS (EASA, FAA or other). The following column includes the ‘commercial designation’ when available. Column 3 includes the relevant individual type rating. Only the designations of ratings in column 3 should be used for endorsing individual type ratings on Part-66 licences. Notes:  It is not the intention of this document to include aircraft modified by STC data is not included in this table.  The reason for modifying the text is explained in the related NPA or CRD.
