COUNCIL DIRECTIVE of 28 October 1969
on the organisation of the general census of agriculture recommended by the FAO
(69/400/EEC )
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, prescribed as part of a survey programme on the structure of agricultural holdings by Regulation No Having regard to the Treaty establishing the 70/66/EEC,2 as amended by Regulation No European Economic Community, and in particular 35/67/EEC,3 certain data, which will however , refer Article 43 thereof; only to a specific period ; whereas the aforementioned Community programme carried out again after an Having regard to the proposal from the Commission; interval of four to five years will make it possible to obtain information on the development of certain important features recorded in the basic survey ; Having regard to the Opinion of the European Parliament1 ; Whereas census data relevant to the above Whereas the Conference of the United Nations Food programme should be forwarded to the Commission as soon as possible ; and Agriculture Organisation recommended in its Resolution No 3/65 , adopted in November 1965, the period about 1970 for the next decennial world census of agriculture; whereas the Member States of HAS ADOPTED THIS DIRECTIVE : the European Economic Community intend to comply with that recommendation ; Article 1 Whereas that census envisages in principle the direct collection of data , from all agricultural holdings by Member States, acting in pursuance of the means of a complete census ; whereas part of the recommendation of the FAO concerning a world results obtained from that census could be used for census of agriculture, shall carry out a census of Community purposes, provided the reference period agricultural holdings situated in their territories and relevant definitions are harmonised under a covering one crop year being a year of which the Community programme ; crop is to be harvested in 1970 or 1971 .

Article 3 3 .
