amending Regulation (EEC) No 1472/69 on imports of citrus fruit originating in Tunisia

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION :

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the Article 1 European Economic Community, and in particular Article 43 thereof; The following shall be substituted for Article 2 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 1472/ 69 : Having regard to the proposal from the Com­ mission ; 'In order that the conditions laid down in Article Having regard to the Opinion of the European 4 (2) of Annex I to the Agreement shall be Parliament; fulfilled, the quotations recorded on the representative markets of the Community at the Whereas Article 2 of Council Regulation (EEC) No import/wholesale stage or converted to that stage, 1472/691 of 23 July 1969 on imports of citrus fruit account being taken of conversion factors and originating in Tunisia lays down the conditions of after deduction of transport costs and import application of the particular system established by charges other than customs duties—these that Regulation in respect of imports into the conversion factors, costs and taxes being those Community of citrus fruit originating in Tunisia with laid down for the calculation of the entry price reference to the quotations recorded at the wholesale referred to in Regulation No 23—must remain stage on the representative markets of the equal to or higher than the price laid down in Community ; whereas these recordings were made in Article 3 , for a specific product adjusted to accordance with the provisions of Article 11 (2) of quality class I, where appropriate, pursuant to the Regulation No 23 2 on the progressive establishment provisions of the first indent, seventh of a common organization of the market in fruit and subparagraph of Article 11 (2) of Regulation No vegetables ; 23 .' Whereas those provisions have since been amended by Regulation (EEC) No 25 12/693 ; whereas the entry Article 2 prices must in consequence be calculated on the basis of the quotations recorded at or converted to the import/wholesale stage; whereas Article 2 of This Regulation shall enter into force on the third Regulation (EEC) No 1472/69 should be adjusted day following its publication in the Official Journal accordingly ; of the European Communities.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
