amending Regulation No 143 /67/EEC on the compensatory amount applicable to imports of certain vegetable oils

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , Regulation No 136/66/EEC ; whereas Regulation No 143/67/EEC should therefore be extended to the Having regard to the Treaty establishing the product in question ; European Economic Community ;

Having regard to Council Regulation No HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : 136/66/EEC1 of 22 September 1966 on the establishment of a common organisation of the Article 1 market in oils and fats, .as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2554/70,2 and in particular Article 3 ( 6 ) thereof; The following shall be substituted for the first subparagraph of Article 1 of Regulation No 143 /67/EEC : Having regard to the proposal from the Commission ; ' The compensatory amount referred to in the Whereas, pursuant to the second subparagraph of second and third subparagraphs of Article 3 ( 6) of Article 3 (6,) of Regulation No 136/66/EEC and in Regulation No 136/66/EEC may be fixed, subject accordance with the third subparagraph of Article 3 to the other conditions laid down in those (6), a compensatory amount may be charged on subparagraphs, in respect of imports of oils imports of the products listed in Article 1 (2 ) of that falling within heading No 15.07 of the Common Regulation; Customs Tariff, with the exception of olive oil other than refined olive oil falling within Whereas Council Regulation No 143 /67/EEC3 of 21 sub-heading No 15.07 A II, if the prices of these June 1967 on the compensatory amount applicable to oils on importation into the Community :' imports of certain vegetable oils only laid down conditions for applying that compensatory amount in Article 2 respect of vegetable oils other than olive oil ; whereas experience has demonstrated that in certain cases the levy on imports of refined olive oil does not provide This Regulation shall enter into force on the third sufficient protection against the imports referred to day following its publication in the Official Journal in the second subparagraph of Article 3 (6) of of the European Communities.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States . Done at Brussels, 25 Mai 1971 ;
