REGULATION (EEC) No 2839/71 OF THE COUNCIL / of 24 December 1971 extending the period of validity of supplementary quality classes for certain fruit and vegetables
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Whereas Council Regulation (EEC) No 1194/694 of 26 June 1969 adds a supplementary class to the common quality standards for lettuce, curled-leaved Having regard to the Treaty establishing the endives and broad-leaved (Batavian) endives, onions, European Economic Community; witloof chicory, cherries, strawberries, asparagus and cucumbers; whereas Class III for these products can no longer, be made to apply after 30 June 1974, Having regard to Council Regulation No unless its period of validity is extended; 158/66/EEC1 of 25 October 1966 on applying common quality standards to fruit and vegetables marketed within the Community, as last amended by Whereas the problem of the application of Class III Regulation (EEC) No 2423/70,2 and in particular for all fruit and vegetables should be reviewed on 30 Article 2 (3 ) thereof; June 1974; whereas consequently the period of validity of the supplementary quality class for cauliflowers, tomatoes, apples and pears, peaches, Having regard to the proposal from the Commission ; citrus fruit and table grapes should be extended to that date; Whereas Council Regulation No 211/66/EEC3 of 14 December 1966 adding a supplementary quality class HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : to the common quality standards for certain fruit and vegetables defined a Class III for cauliflowers, Sole Article tomatoes, apples and pears, peaches, citrus fruit and table grapes; whereas, in accordance with Article 2 (3) of Regulation No 158/66/EEC, these quality The supplementary quality classes for cauliflowers, classes can no longer be made to apply after the fifth tomatoes, apples and pears, peaches, citrus fruit and year following the date of their adoption, unless their table grapes may be made to apply until 30 June period of validity is extended; 1974." 0
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
