REGULATION (EEC) No 581/72 OF THE COMMISSION

of 22 March 1972

amending Commission Regulation (EEC) No 375/69 of 27 February 1969 on the declaration of particulars relating to the value of goods for customs purposes

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COM­ requirement of a written or oral declaration of all or MUNITIES, part of the particulars relating to the value for customs purposes ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community ; Whereas the provisions of this Regulation are in accordance with the Opinion of the Customs Valuation Committee ; Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC ) No 803/681 of 27 June 1968 on the valuation of goods for customs purposes, and in particular Article 14 HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : thereof; Article 1 Whereas, taking into account the experience gained by Member States since the entry into force of Commission Regulation (EEC ) No 375/69 of 27 Commission Regulation (EEC) No 375/692 of 27 February 1969 on the declaration of particulars February 1969 on the declaration of particulars relating to the value of goods for customs purposes relating to the value of goods for customs purposes, shall be amended as follows : and with the object of reducing formalities required in international trade, it is desirable to simplify the in Article 5 , substitute '500 ' for '200'. procedure laid down in that Regulation without, however, jeopardizing the objectives set out therein ; Article 2 whereas within the framework of such simplification it is possible to increase form 200 to 500 units of account the maximum value of imported goods This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 April below which Member States may waive the ' 1972.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
