fixing the guide prices for wine for the period from 16 December 1972 to 15 December 1973

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , Whereas, to that end, higher prices should be fixed for the period from 16 December 1972 to 15 December 1973 than for the preceding period despite Having regard to the Treaty establishing the the trend in wine prices during the last two European Economic Community, and in particular wine-growing years and the current wine-growing Article 43 thereof; year mentioned in Article 2 (2) of Regulation (EEC) No 816/70 ; Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 816/701 of 28 April 1970 laying down additional Whereas the guide prices must be fixed ' for each type provisions for the common organization of the of table wirte representative of Community market in wine, as last amended by Regulation (EEC) production, as defined in Regulation (EEC) No No 2722/712, and in particular Article 2 thereof; 945 /703 ;

Having regard to the proposal from the Commission ; HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to the Opinion of the European Parliament ; Article 1 Whereas, when the guide prices for the various types of table wine are fixed , account should be taken both For the period from 16 December 1972 to 15 December 1973 the guide prices shall be: of the objectives of the common agricultural policy and of the contribution which the Community wishes 1 . 1-45 u.a. per degree/hi for type R I table wine ; to make to the harmonious development of world 2. 1-34 u.a. per degree/hi for type R II table wine ; trade ; whereas the objectives of the common 3 . 22-6 u.a . per hi for type R III table wine ; agricultural policy are in particular to ensure a fair 4. 1-36 u.a. degree/hi for type A I table wine ; standard of living for the agricultural community, to assure the availability of supplies and to ensure 5 . 30-1 u.a . per hi for type A II table wine ; that supplies reach consumers at reasonable prices ; 6. 34-4 u.a. per hi for type A III table wine.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
