REGULATION (EEC) No 1474/72 OF THE COUNCIL of 10 July 1972

on the levies on imports of adult bovine animals and meat thereof from Yugoslavia

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , Whereas the present situation of the market in beef and veal nevertheless justifies maintaining for the Having regard to the Treaty establishing the third year of application of the Agreement, the rates European Economic Community, and in particular of reduction applied during the first two years ; Article 43 thereof;

Having regard to the proposal from the Commission ; HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION :

Having regard to the Opinion of the European Parliament ; Article 1 Whereas import terms for beef and veal products were defined by Council Regulation (EEC) No 805/68 1 of 27 June 1968 on the common organization By way of derogation from the third subparagraph of of the market in beef and veal, as last amended by Article 10 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 805 /68 the Regulation (EEC) No 2838/712; levy on imports of the products falling within subheadings Nos 01.02 A II (b) 2 (aa), 02.01 A II (a) Whereas Article VI of the Trade Agreement between 1 ( bb ) 11 ( aaa), 02.01 A II ( a) 1 (bb) 22 ( aaa) and the European Economic Community and the Socialist 02.01 A II (a ) 1 (bb ) 33 ( aaa ) of the Common Federal Republic of Yugoslavia3 provides for special Customs Tariff, imported under the EEC-Yugoslavia import terms for certain adult bovine animals and of Agreement, shall be as follows : certain meats of these animals, defined in the Annex to Protocol No 1 to the Agreement; ( a) until 14 August 1972 and from 1 February 1973 to 30 April 1973 , Whereas the special terms provide that, for the first two years of application of the Agreement, during the — 75% of the levy fixed pursuant to the second period from 15 August to 31 January, the amount of subparagraph of Article 10 ( 1 ) of Regulation the levy charged may not be higher than 80% of the (EEC) No 805 /68 , if it is recorded that the total levy, if it is recorded that the price on the price of the products in question on the Community market is higher than 98% of the guide representative markets of the Community is price but not higher than or equal to the guide price, higher than 98% of the guide price but not and may not be higher than 50% of the total levy, if higher than or equal to the guide price; it is recorded that the price on the Community market is higher than the guide price but not higher — 50% of the levy fixed pursuant to the second than 102% of this price, while for the period from 1 subparagraph of Article 10 ( 1 ) of Regulation February to 14 August the reduction in the levy is (EEC) No 805 /68 , if it is recorded that the 25% in the first case and 50% in the second ; price of the products in question on the representative markets of the Community is Whereas for the third year of its application the higher than the guide price but not higher Agreement provides for a smaller reduction of the than 102% of that price; levy ;
