REGULATION (EEC) No 1700/72 OF THE COMMISSION of 4 August 1972
fixing, pursuant to the application of the system of import licences for tomato con centrates, the percentage to be applied to the reference quantity
THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN. COM Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1400/725 MUNITIES, of 30 June 1972 suspended the granting of import licences for tomato concentrates by fixing at zero the percentage to be applied to imports from third Having regard to the Treaty establishing the countries which have not expressed their readiness to European Economic Community; guarantee compliance with a certain price level for exports into the Community; whereas, now that the Commission has completed its examination of the Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No protective measures in respect of the product in 865/68 1 of 28| June 1968 on the common question, it appears necessary to alter the percentage organization of the market in products processed referred to above by fixing it at a level which will from fruit and vegetables , as last amended by cause no disturbance in the balance between the Regulation (EEC) No 1425/712 ; measures provided for in Article 1 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 1558 /71 and the derogation from these measures ; Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 1427/713 of 2 July 1971 introducing protective measures for products processed from fruit and HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : vegetables, and in particular Article 1 (2 ) thereof ;
Article 1 Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1558/714 of 20 July 1971 laying down protective measures From 8 August 1972 applications for import licences applicable to imports of tomato concentrates laid submitted in accordance with Article 1 of Regulation down protective measures applicable to imports of (EEC) No 1558/71 shall be accepted within the limit tomato concentrates from third countries excluding of the quantity shown in the application and to the Greece; whereas to this end that Regulation made extent of 30% of the reference quantity referred to in provision for restricting imports by means of a Article 3 of Regulation (EEC) No 1558/71 . system of import licences ;
Whereas, pursuant to Article 2 (2) of that Article 2 Regulation, the Commission is to assess the situation and decide on the quantities for which licences are to Regulation (EEC) No 1400/72 is hereby repealed. be issued by fixing a percentage to be applied to the reference quantity for each particular applicant; Article 3

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
