REGULATION (EEC) No 2324/72 OF THE COUNCIL of 31 October 1972 suspending the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties applicable to beef and veal

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNI­ until the end of this period the validity of TIES , Regulation (EEC) No 1654/72 which remains applicable as regards the suspension of levies; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community; Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 805/681 of 27 June 1968 , establishing a HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : common organisation of the market in beef and veal, as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2838/712 and in particular Article 17, Article 1 second subparagraph thereof; Having regard to the proposal from the Com­ 1 . Notwithstanding Regulation (EEC) No mission ; 1654/72 and until 31 January 1973 , the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties Whereas Council Regulation (EEC) No 1654/723 of 31 July 1972, laying down the general rules applicable to the products listed in the Annex applicable in the event of a marked increase shall be suspended at the level indicated in in beef and veal prices , provides for the terms respect of each of them. on which levies and autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties may be suspended; and 2 . The period of validity of Regulation whereas the application of this Regulation has (EEC) No 1654/72 shall be extended until not proved to be entirely satisfactory; 31 January 1973 . Whereas it is therefore necessary, in order to find the most effective remedy for the present Article 2 shortage of beef and veal in the Community, to suspend the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties for a given period of time; and This Regulation shall enter into force on whereas , moveover, it is advisable to extend 6 November 1972 .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States . Done at Luxembourg, 31 October 1972. For the Council The President
