REGULATION (EEC) No 174/73 OF THE COtJNCIL

of 22 January 1973 amending Regulation No 1009/67/EEC on the common organization of the market in sugar

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, for a certain period, which was subsequently extended ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the Whereas at present a substantial output of raw beet European Economic Community, and in particular sugar continues to be produced both in the original Article 43 thereof; and in the new Member States ; whereas a further extension of the period of applicability of the Having regard to the proposal from the Commission; intervention system to raw beet sugar is therefore necessary ; Having regard to the Opinion of the European Parliament; HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Whereas Council Regulation No 1009/67/EEC (*) of 18 December 1967 on the common organization of Article 1 the market in sugar, as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2429/72 (2), provides in Article 9 (3 ) that the intervention system for white sugar applies also, 1 . In Article 9 (3 ) of Regulation No 1009/67/EEC, for a period specified, to raw beet sugar; '30 June 1975 ' shall be substituted for '30 June 1973 '.

Whereas the extension of this system to raw beet 2.
