REGULATION (EEC) No 182/73 OF THE COUNCIL

suspending the import charges and compensatory amounts for beef and veal
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , Community, such as to put in issue the principle of Community preference referred to in Articles 33 ( 1 ) and 55 ( 6 ) ( i ) of the Act; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community ; Whereas it is consequently opportune to provide for a suspension of compensatory amounts fixed Having regard to the Treaty concerning the pursuant to the third paragraph of Article 14 of Accession of new Member States to the European Council Regulation (EEC) No 181 /73 (7) of 23 Economic Community and the European Atomic January 1973 laying down the general rules for the Energy Community (*), signed at Brussels on 22 system of compensatory amounts for beef and veal January 1972, and in particular to Articles 33 (2) and 62 ( 1 ) of the annexed Act ; and duties for intra-Community trading ;
Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No "Whereas there is a time limit to the suspension of 805 /68 ( 2) of 27 June 1968 , on the common duties and levies ; whereas accordingly it is organization of the market in beef and veal, amended unnecessary to allow time for delivery pursuant to in the last instance by Regulation (EEC ) No Article 3 of Regulation (EEC) No 1654/72 after 187/73 (3), and in particular Article 17 (2) thereof; which the provisions of this Regulation shall have ceased to be applicable ; Having regard to the proposal from the Commission ;
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Whereas autonomous duties , customs duties and levies for certain beef and veal products have been suspended by Regulations (EEC ) No 2324/72 (4) and Article 1 (EEC) No 2457/72 (5); and whereas this suspension is valid until 31 January 1973 ; Notwithstanding Regulation (EEC) No 1654/72 and Regulation (EEC) No 181 /73 in respect of the Whereas a scarcity situation persists in the beef and autonomous duties, the levies and the compensatory veal market; whereas it is accordingly opportune to amounts applicable to beef and veal imports and to extend the system now applicable to the end of the beef and veal in intra-Community trade carried out trading period by adapting it to the situation from 1 February 1973 to 1 April 1973 shall be resulting from the enlargement of the Community ; suspended as indicated in the Annex.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
