REGULATION (EEC) No 1361/73 OF THE COUNCIL of 15 May 1973 fixing the amount of aid for flax and hemp for the 1973 /74 marketing year

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , and seeds on the world market and of the price for other competing natural products ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the Whereas Article 95 of the Act lays down the criteria European Economic Community, and in particular for fixing the amount of aid for flax in the new Article 43 thereof; Member States ; whereas application of these criteria entails fixing the said amount for the United Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No Kingdom and Denmark at a lower level than, and, 1308 / 70 (*) of 29 June 1970 on the common for Ireland at a level equal to that of the aid valid for organization of the market in flax and hemp, as the Community as originally constituted ; amended by the Act (2) concerning the Conditions of Accession and the Adjustments to the Treaties, hereinafter called the 'Act', and in particular Article 4 HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : ( 3 ) thereof ;

Sole Article Having regard to the proposal from the Commission ;

For the 1973 / 74 marketing year, the aid referred to in Having regard to the Opinion of the European Article 4 of Regulation ( EEC) No 1308 /70 shall be : Parliament ;

( a) as regards flax, Whereas Article 4 of Regulation (EEC) No 1308/70 provides for the annual fixing of aid for flax and — 70 units of account per hectare for the United hemp produced within the Community; Kingdom, — 125 units of account per hectare for Whereas in accordance with Article 4 (2) of that Denmark, Regulation , aid shall be fixed per hectare sown and harvested so as to ensure a balance between the — 150 units of account per hectare for the other required volume of production within the Member States ; Community and the potential outlets for that production ; whereas, when that aid is fixed, account ( b) as regards hemp, 125 units of account per hectare must be taken of the price for flax and hemp fibres for all Member States .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
