REGULATION ( EEC) No 1886/ 73 OF THE COMMISSION of 12 July 1973 re-establishing Common Customs Tariff duties on handkerchiefs, other than cotton , falling within heading No ex 61.05 , originating in India, to which the preferential tariff arrangements set out in Council Regulation (EEC) No 2764/72 of 19 December 1972 apply
THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN maximum amount 3-75 metric tons ; whereas on 30 COMMUNITIES , June 1973 the amounts of imports into the Commu nity, originating in India, a country covered by prefer Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European ential tariff arrangements, reached that maximum Economic Community ; amount ; whereas, bearing in mind the objectives of Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No Regulation (EEC) No 2764/72, which provides that 2764/72 (') of 19 December 1972 establishing prefer maximum amounts should not be exceeded, Common ential tariffs in respect of certain textile products origi Customs Tariff duties should be re-established in nating in developing countries, and in particular respect of the products in question in relation to Article 4 (2) thereof ; India ; Whereas Article 1 (3) and (4) of that Regulation HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : provides that the Common Customs Tariff duties may, for each category of products, be suspended up Article 1 to a Community ceiling equal to the sum arrived at by adding together the value of the products in question, As from 16 July 1973 , Common Customs Tariff in metric tons, imported into the Community in 1968 duties, suspended in pursuance of Council Regulation and coming from countries listed in Annex B to that ( EEC) No 2764/72 of 19 December 1972, shall be Regulation, but not including products coming from re-established in respect of the following products, countries already covered by various preferential tariff imported into the Community and originating in arrangements established by the Community, and India : 5 % of the 1970 metric tonnage of such imports coming from other countries and from countries already covered by such arrangements ; whereas, CCT heading Description of goods having regard to that ceiling, the amounts for No products originating in any one of the countries listed in Annex B to that Regulation should be within a maximum Community amount representing 50 % of ex 61.05 Handkerchiefs , other than cotton that ceiling ; whereas Article 2 (2) of that Regulation provides that Common Customs Tariff duties may be re-established at any time in respect of imports of the products in question originating in any of the said countries once the relevant Community maximum amount has been reached ; Article 2 Whereas, in respect of handkerchiefs, other than This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day cotton , the ceiling, calculated as indicated above, following its publication in the Official Journal of should be 7-5 metric tons , and therefore the the European Communities.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
