REGULATION (EEC) No 1299/74 OF THE COMMISSION of 22 May 1974 re-establishing the levying of the customs duties on illuminating glassware, signalling glassware and optical elements of glass, not optically worked or of optical glass, falling within subheading No 70.14 B, originating in Hong Kong, to which the preferential tariff arrangements set out in Council Regulation ( EEC) No 3501 / 73 of 18 December 1973 apply
THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN optically worked or of optical glass, other, the ceiling, COMMUNITIES, calculated as indicated above, should be 479 000 units of account, and therefore the maximum amount Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community ; 143 700 units of account ; whereas on 8 May 1974, the amounts of imports into the Community of illumi Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No nating glassware, signalling glassware and optical 3501 /73 ( J ) of 18 December 1973 establishing prefer elements of glass, not optically worked or of optical ential tariffs in respect of certain products originating glass, other, originating in Hong Kong, a country in developing countries, and in particular Article 4 (2) covered by preferential tariff arrangements, reached thereof ; that maximum amount ; whereas, bearing in mind the Whereas Article 1 (3) and (4) of that Regulation objectives of Regulation (EEC) No 3501 /73, which provides that the customs duties may, for each cate provides that maximum amounts should not be gory of products, be suspended up to a Community exceeded, customs duties should be re-established in ceiling, expressed in units of account, which will be respect of the products in question in relation to equal to the sum arrived at by adding together the Hong Kong, value of the products in question imported cif into the Community in 1971 and coming from countries HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : and territories Covered by those arrangements, but not including products coming from countries and territo ries already covered by various preferential tariff Article 1 arrangements established by the Community, and 5% of the value of 1971 cif imports coming from As from 26 May 1974, the levying of customs duties, other countries and from countries and territories suspended in pursuance of Council Regulation (EEC) No 3501 /73 of 18 December 1973 , shall be already covered by such arrangements ; re-established in respect of the following products, Whereas, having regard to that ceiling, the amounts imported into the Community and originating in for products originating in any one of the countries or Hong Kong : territories listed in Annex B to that Regulation should be within a maximum Community amount repre CCT senting 50 % of that ceiling, with the exception of heading Description of goods No certain products for which the maximum amount is to be reduced to the percentage indicated in Annex A to 70.14 Illuminating glassware, signalling glassware that Regulation ; whereas, for those products, this reduced percentage will be 30% ; and optical elements of glass, not optically worked or of optical glass : Whereas Article 2 (2) of that Regulation provides that B. Other the levying of customs duties may be re-established at any time in respect of imports of the products in ques tion originating "in any of the said countries or territo Article 2 ries once the relevant Community maximum amount has been reached ; This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day Whereas, in respect of illuminating glassware , following its publication in the Official Journal of signalling glassware and optical elements of glass, not the European Communities.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
