REGULATION ( EEC) No 426/ 75 OF THE COMMISSION of 20 February 1975 suspending advance fixing of the import levy for maize and barley
THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN Whereas market prices for barley are falling at COMMUNITIES , present ; whereas this may lead by way of exception as in the case of maize to advance fixing of the levies ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community ; Whereas, in the case of barley and maize, the trend of world prices will be influenced by harvest prospects ; Having regard to Council Regulation No 120 / whereas at present no firm forecast can be made ; 67/EEC (') of 13 June 1967 on the common organiza whereas the future trend of prices is therefore uncer tion of the market in cereals, as last amended by Regu tain ; lation (EEC) No 85/75 (2), and in particular Article 15 (7) thereof ; Whereas the above situation requires that application of the provisions concerning advance fixing of levies Whereas Article 15 (7) of Regulation No 120/67/ EEC for the products concerned be temporarily suspended ; provides that the provisions concerning advance fixing of the levy may be suspended if the market situ Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation ation shows that the application of such provisions are in accordance with the Opinion of the Manage will or is likely to cause difficulties ; ment Committee for Cereals, Whereas prices on the world market have not only fluctuated but have fallen sharply ; whereas this situa HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : tion has led to import licences with advance fixing of the import levy being issued for substantial quantities of maize ; Article 1 Whereas, as a result of licences already issued or Advance fixing of the import levy for maize and requested, import commitments already, five months barley falling within CCT subheadings 10.05 B and from the end of the marketing year, cover most of the 10.03 respectively is hereby suspended : normal import requirements ;
