COUNCIL REGULATION (EEC) No 116/76 of 19 January 1976

fixing the intervention prices for fresh or chilled sardines and anchovies for the 1976 fishing year

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , Whereas the guide prices for fishery products listed in Annex I (A) and ( C) to Regulation (EEC) No 100/ Having regard to the Treaty establishing the 76 have been fixed for the 1976 fishing year by European Economic Community, Regulation ( EEC ) No 115/76 ( 2 );

Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 100/ 76 of 19 January 1976 on the common organization Whereas, given the present state of information on of the market in fishery products ( x ), and in the market situation for the products in question and particular Article 9 (4) thereof, the absence of any experience in relation to purchase on the open market of these products, the intervention prices should be fixed at a level such as Having regard to the proposal from the Commission, to ensure maximum support of the market,

Whereas Article 9 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 100/ 76 provides that intervention prices should be fixed HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : for fresh or chilled sardines and anchovies at a level designed to ensure the stability of market prices without leading to the formation of structural surpluses in the Community; Article 1 Whereas Article 9 (3 ) of the same Regulation provides that the intervention price should be fixed The intervention prices applicable until 31 December at a level between 35 and 45 °/o of the guide price 1976 for fresh and chilled sardines and anchovies and depending on the production and marketing the products to which they relate are hereby fixed as characteristics peculiar to each product; follows :

Article2¶

1 . Council Regulation (EEC) No 3306/75 of 16 December 1975 fixing intervention prices for fresh or chilled sardines and anchovies for the 1976 fishing year (3) is hereby repealed.

2 . References to the Regulation repealed by virtue of paragraph 1 shall be construed as references to this Regulation .

Article3¶

This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 February 1976 .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
