of 24 June 1976 on imports into the Community of prepared and preserved sardines originating in Tunisia
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Whereas, in order to avoid any interruption in trade in the said products between the Community and Tunisia pending the conclusion of that exchange of Having regard to the Treaty establishing the letters, the arrangements laid down by Regulation European Economic Community, and in particular (EEC) No 112/76 should continue to apply on a Article 43 thereof, transitional basis to prepared and preserved sardines,
Having regard to the proposal from the Commission,
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to the opinion of the European Parliament ( J ),
Whereas Council Regulation (EEC ) No 112/76 of Article 1 19 January 1976 concerning imports into the Com munity of fishery products originating in- Tunisia (2 ) established transitional arrangements for imports of 1 . Member States shall maintain in force the import carp, trout and preserved sardines and tunny arrangements applied on 31 January 1972 to prepared originating in that country ; and preserved sardines falling within subheading 16.04 D of the Common Customs Tariff originating in Tunisia . Whereas these arrangements apply until the entry into force of a new Agreement between the Com munity and Tunisia ; 2. However, Member States which open tariff quotas under the arrangements referred to in para Whereas a Cooperation Agreement and an Interim graph 1 may increase the quantity of such quotas by Agreement (3 ) between the European Economic not more than 30% . 3 . Article 2 Whereas the Cooperation Agreement and the Interim Agreement contain provisions relating to imports of the fishery products in question , which will not, 1 . This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
