COMMISSION REGULATION ( EEC) No 658 /77 of 29 March 1977 re-establishing the levying of customs duties on cotton yarn put up for retail sale, falling within heading No 55.06, originating in developing countries to which the preferential tariff arrangements set out in Council Regulation ( EEC) No 3022 / 76 apply

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN be 13 tonnes ; whereas on 24 March 1977 the COMMUNITIES, amounts of imports into the Community of the products in question , originating in countries covered Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European by preferential tariff arrangements, reached that Economic Community, ceiling ; whereas, bearing in mind the objectives of Having regard to Council Regulation ( EEC) No Regulation ( EEC) No 3022/76, which provides that 3022/ 76 of 13 December 1976 opening, allocating the ceiling should not be exceeded , customs duties and providing for the administration of Community should be re-established in respect of the products in tariff preferences for textile products originating in question , developing countries and territories ('), and in parti­ cular Article 4 thereof, HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION :

Whereas Article 2 ( 1 ) of that Regulation provides that Article 1 customs duties may, for each category of products listed in Annex C to that Regulation , be suspended up As from 3 April 1977, the levying of customs duties, to a Community ceiling equal to 174 % of the sum suspended in pursuance of Council Regulation (EEC) arrived at by adding together the tonnage of the No 3022/76, shall be re-established in respect of the products in question , imported into the Community following products, imported into the Community : in 1968 and coming from countries listed in Annex D thereof, but not including products coming from coun­ CCT tries already covered by various preferential tariff arran­ heading Description of goods No gements established by the Community, and 5 % of the 1970 tonnage of such imports coming from other countries and from countries already covered by such 55.06 Cotton yarn put up for retail sale arrangements ; whereas Article 3 ( 1 ) of that Regulation provides that the levying of customs duties may be re-established any time the Community ceiling has Article 2 been reached ; This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day Whereas, in respect of cotton yarn put up for retail following its publication in the Official Journal of sale, the ceiling, calculated as indicated above, should the European Communities.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
