COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 698/77 of 30 March 1977 amending Regulation (EEC) No 571/76 following the fixing of new exchange rates to be applied in France, Ireland and Italy in agriculture

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation COMMUNITIES , are in accordance with the opinions of the relevant management committees, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community,

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 557/76 of 15 March 1976 on the exchange rates to be applied in agriculture and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 475/75 ( 1), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) Article 1 No 651 /77 (2), and in particular Article 3 thereof, Article 2 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 571/76 is Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 571 /76 hereby amended as follows : of 15 March 1976 laying down detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation ( EEC) No 557/76 ' 1 . The provisions of the last subparagraph of on the exchange rates to be applied in agriculture and Article 4 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 1134/68 repealing Regulation (EEC) No 475/75 (3), as last shall apply to the products and Member States amended by Regulation ( EEC) No 79/77 (4), provided concerned with effect from the dates set out in that the provisions of the last subparagraph of Article Article 2 (2), (3 ), (4), (5 ), (6) and (7) of 4 ( 1 ) of Council Regulation ( EEC) No 1134/68 of 30 Regulation (EEC) No 557/76.' July 1968 laying down rules for the implementation of Regulation (EEC) No 653 /68 on conditions for alterations to the value of the unit of account used Article 2 for the common agricultural policy (5) shall apply to the products and the Member States concerned with effect from the dates set out in Article 2 (2), (3 ), (4), The following subparagraph is added to Article 2 (2) (5 ) and (6) of Regulation ( EEC) No 557/76; of Regulation (EEC) No 571 /76:

Whereas Regulation ( EEC) No 651 /77 amended 'With respect to the fixing of the representative Article 2 of Regulation (EEC) No 557/76 to take rates for the French franc, the Irish pound and the account of the new representative rate fixed for the Italian lira, to take effect from 1 April 1977, the French franc, the Irish pound and the Italian lira said provisions shall apply only to advance fixings and the relevant documents or certificates issued with effect from 1 April 1977 ; whereas, therefore, an before 29 March 1977 within the meaning of addition needs to be made to Regulation (EEC) No 571 /76 ; Article 9 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 193 /75 .'

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
