making the importation into Italy of certain woven fabrics of cotton and certain woven fabrics of synthetic textile fibres originating in the Kingdom of Thailand subject to authorization

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN Whereas imports from Thailand have increased even COMMUNITIES, more rapidly in the first few months of 1977 ;

2 . The quantity in respect of which import authorizations shall be issued shall be such that the total volume of the imports referred to in paragraph 1 over the period from 1 March to 31 December 1977 shall not exceed :

— for category No 1 : 2 225 000 kg, — for category No 2 : 2 571 000 kg .

Article2

1 . This Regulation shall enter into force on the second day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.

2. It shall apply up to the entry into force of appropriate measures to be taken by the Council in accordance with Articles 12 (6) and 13 of Regulation ( EEC) No 1439/74 and at the latest until the expiry of a period of six weeks after its entry into force .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
