COUNCIL REGULATION ( EEC) No 879/77 of 26 April 1977 amending Regulation (EEC) No 350/77 laying down certain interim measures for the conservation and management of fishery resources

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : COMMUNITIES, Article 1 Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, and in particular Article 103 thereof, Council Regulation (EEC) No 350/77 of 18 February 1977 laying down certain interim measures for the Having regard to the Act of Accession, and in parti­ conservation and management of fishery resources (') cular Article 102 thereof, shall be amended as follows : Having regard to the proposal from the Commission, — in Article 1 ( 1 ), '30 April 1977' shall be replaced by '31 May 1977', Whereas all the latest scientific estimates of the North — in Article 1 (2), first subparagraph, '1 May 1977' Sea herring stock for 1977 are not yet available ; shall be replaced by *1 June 1977'. whereas, therefore, the prohibition on herring fishing in the North Sea should be extended to 31 May 1977 on the understanding that the Council will have to Article 2 adopt before 1 June 1977 the measures to be applied for the remaining part of 1977, This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 May 1977.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
