COUNCIL REGULATION ( EEC) No 2914/77 of 20 December 1977 extending certain provisions of Regulation ( EEC) No 1641 /77 as regards the arrangements applicable to trade with the Republic of Cyprus beyond the date of expiry of the first stage of the Association Agreement

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN 1641 / 77 (4) extended the arrangements applicable to COMMUNITIES, trade with the Republic of Cyprus beyond the date of expiry of the first stage of the Association Agreement ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, and in particular Articles 43 Whereas it is necessary to extend the application of and 113 thereof, Article 1 of Regulation (EEC) No 1641 /77, Having regard to the proposal from the Commission,

Having regard to the opinion of the European Parlia­ HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : ment ( ! ), Whereas the provisions governing the first stage of the Article 1 Agreement establishing an Association between the European Economic Community and the Republic of Article 1 of Regulation (EEC) No 1641 /77 is hereby Cyprus (2), including the Protocol laying down certain extended until the entry into force of the Additional provisions relating to the Agreement establishing an Protocol . Association between the European Economic Commu­ nity and the Republic of Cyprus consequent on the accession of new Member States to the European Article 2 Economic Community (3), expired on 30 June 1977 ; Whereas an Additional Protocol to the Association This Regulation shall enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Journal of Agreement has been negotiated ; the European Communities. Whereas pending the entry into force of that Protocol the Council by means of Regulation (EEC) No It shall apply from 1 January 1978 .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
