COUNCIL REGULATION ( EEC) No 256/78 of 7 February 1978 amending Regulation ( EEC) No 114/77 concerning import arrangements for certain textile products originating in Singapore

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN and the Republic of Singapore on trade in textiles, COMMUNITIES, consultations have been held between the parties concerning the heading for the said category of Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European product and the special arrangements for imports into Economic Community, and in particular Article 113 France ; thereof, Having regard to the proposal from the Commission , Whereas at the close of these consultations a mutually acceptable solution was adopted concerning this Whereas, in the context of the Arrangement regarding heading ; international trade in textiles, the Community has negotiated with the Republic of Singapore an Agree­ Whereas the Community should implement the ment on trade in textiles ; conclusions of these consultations ; Whereas the import arrangements were laid down in Whereas it is therefore necessary to make certain Council Regulation (EEC) No 114/77 of 18 January amendments to Regulation (EEC) No 114/77, 1977 concerning import arrangements for certain textile products originating in Singapore (*) ; HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Whereas the quantiative limit established for category 5 in Annex B to the said Regulation expired on 31 Article 1 August 1977 ; Whereas, in accordance with Article 5 of the Agree­ Category 5 in Annex B to Regulation (EEC) No ment between the European Economic Community 114/77 is hereby replaced by the following :

Article 2 This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
