COUNCIL REGULATION ( EEC) No 591 / 78 of 20 March 1978 temporarily suspending the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duty on certain grades of magnesium oxide falling within subheading ex 25.19 A

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN CCT COMMUNITIES , heading Description No Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, and in particular Article 28 ex 25.19 A Magnesium oxide , dead-burned but not thereof, fused, of a purity not less than 98 % , Whereas production of certain grades of magnesium which may not contain : oxide is at present inadequate within the Commu­ (a) More than 0.05 % by weight of boron nity ; whereas, in order to satisfy the needs of the compounds evaluated as B2O3 Community's processing industry, the Common (b) More than 1.25 % by weight of Customs Tariff duty on those grades of magnesium calcium compounds evaluated as CaO oxide should be suspended completely ; (c) More than 0-5 % by weight of silicon compounds evaluated as SiO2 Whereas, taking account of the difficulties involved in (d) A total of more than 0 5 % by weight accurately assessing short-term trends in the economic of aluminium compounds and iron situation in the sector concerned, this suspension compounds evaluated as Al2O3 and measure should be taken only temporarily, Fe 2 0 3

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION :

Article1¶

The Common Customs Tariff duty on the product listed below shall be suspended completely from 1 This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 April April to 30 June 1978 . 1978 .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
