COUNCIL REGULATION ( EEC) No 1077 / 78 of 23 May 1978 temporarily suspending the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties on certain industrial products
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN Whereas, taking account of the difficulties involved in COMMUNITIES , accurately assessing the development of the economic situation in the sectors concerned in the near future, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European these suspension measures should be taken only Economic Community, and in particular Article 28 temporarily, with their term of validity fixed to coin thereof, cide with the interests of Community production, Having regard to the draft Regulation submitted by the Commission , HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Whereas production of the products referred to in this Regulation is at present inadequate or non-existent Article 1 within the Community and producers are thus unable to meet the needs of user industries in the Commu The autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties for nity ; the products listed in the tables annexed to this Regu lation shall be suspended at the level indicated in Whereas it is in the Community's interest to suspend respect of each of them . the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties only partially in certain cases, due particularly to the exist These suspensions shall be valid : ence of Community production, and to suspend them — from 1 July to 31 December 1978 for the products completely in other cases ; listed in Table I , Whereas, for spirits of turpentine falling within — from 1 July 1978 to 30 June 1979 for the subheading 38.07 A, the Association Council esta products listed in Table II . blished under the association between the European Economic Community and Greece has agreed to a Article 2 suspension, for the period envisaged, of the Common Customs Tariff duty applicable to this product ; This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 July 1978 .
