fixing the guide prices for wine for the period 16 December 1978 to 15 December 1979

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Whereas, to that end, the prices valid for the period 16 December 1978 to 15 December 1979 should be fixed at higher levels than those adopted for the preceding period, particularly in view of recent price trends ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, and in particular Article 43 thereof, Whereas the guide prices must be fixed for each type of table wine representative of Community production as defined in Council Regulation (EEC) No 945 /70 ( 5), Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 816/70 of 28 April 1970 laying down additional provisions for the common organization of the market in wine ( J), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2211 /77 (2), and in particular Article 2 thereof, HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to the proposal from the Commission,

Sole Article Having regard to the opinion of the European Parlia ment ( 3 ), For the period 16 December 1978 to 15 December 1979 the guide prices for table wines shall be : Having regard to the opinion of the Economic and Social Committee ( 4),

Whereas, when the guide prices for the various types of table wine are fixed, account should be taken both of Type of wine Guide price the objectives of the common agricultural policy and of the contribution which the Community wishes to make R I 2.07 u.a./degree/hl to the harmonious development of world trade; whereas R II 2.07 u.a./degree/hl the objectives of the common agricultural policy are in R III 32.28 u.a. /hl particular to ensure a fair standard of living for the A I 1.94 u.a./degree/hl agricultural community, to ensure that supplies are A II 43-02 u.a. /hl available and that they reach consumers at reasonable A III 49.12 u.a. /hl prices ;

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
