COMMISSION REGULATION ( EEC) No 1806/78 of 28 July 1978 fixing for the 1978/79 marketing year the minimum purchase price and the amount of financial compensation for oranges delivered for processing

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation COMMUNITIES, are in accordance with the opinion of the Manage­ ment Committee for Fruit and Vegetables,

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community,

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2601 /69 of 18 December 1969 laying down special Article 1 measures to encourage the processing of certain varie­ ties of oranges (J), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 1154/78 (2), and in particular Articles 2 (3) 1 . For the 1978/79 marketing year the minimum and 3 (2) thereof, price referred to in Article 2 (2) of Regulation (EEC) No 2601 /69 shall be :

Whereas Article 2 of Regulation (EEC) No 2601 /69 (a) for oranges of the ' Biondo comune' variety, provides that the minimum price which processors must pay producers under the contracts is calculated — 8.38 units of account per 100 kilograms net tor on the basis of the purchase price plus 10 % of the products in Class I, basic price of the varieties which, by reason of their — 6.89 units of account per 100 kilograms net for commercial characteristics, are usually sent for products in Class II, processing ; — 5.42 units of account per 100 kilograms net for products in Class III or mixed ; Whereas experience has shown that apart from oranges of the 'Biondo comune' variety, the only (b) for Class III or mixed of the following varieties, variety taken into account to date, the products concerned are blood oranges in Class III or mixed ; — Moro and Tarocco : 10.69 units of account per 100 kilograms net, whereas, therefore, the minimum price should be fixed on the basis of the average purchase price for — Sanguinello : 9-92 units of account per 100 the current marketing year applicable under Council kilograms net, Regulation (EEC) No 1123/78 of 22 May 1978 fixing — Sanguigno : 8.38 units of account per 100 kilo­ certain prices and other amounts applicable in the grams net. fruit and vegetables sector for the 1978/79 marketing year (3) and Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1203/73 of 4 May 1973 fixing the conversion factors 2. The amount of the financial compensation referred to Whereas Article 3 of Regulation (EEC) No 2601 /69 in Article 3 ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 2601 /69 shall provides that financial compensation must be so fixed be : that the difference between the minimum price and the financial compensation does not vary, in relation (a) for oranges of the Biondo comune variety, to that recorded for the preceding marketing year, by a percentage exceeding the percentage variation in the — 5.62 units of account per 100 kilograms net for minimum price ; products in Class I, (!)
