COMMISSION REGULATION ( EEC) No 2097 / 78 of 29 August 1978 amending the arrangements for imports of certain textile products originating in Taiwan

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN the five-year period 1978 to 1982, to establish the new COMMUNITIES, quotas for 1978 ;

Having regard to the Treaty t tablishing the European Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation Economic Community, are in accordance with the opinion of the Quota Administration Committee set up by Council Regula­ Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No tion ( EEC) No 1023 /70, 1023/70 of 25 May 1970 establishing a common proce­ dure for administering quantitative quotas ('), and in particular Articles 2 and 1 1 thereof, HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Whereas, for certain textile products originating in Taiwan, Community quantitative import quotas were Article 1 introduced for the period 1 January 1978 to 31 December 1982 by Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1 . The quantitative quotas and their allocation 3020/77 of 30 December 1977 (2 ) ; among the Member States as set out in Annex II to Regulation (EEC) No 3020/77 are hereby replaced for Whereas, by Regulation (EEC) No 255/78 of 7 1978 by those set out in Annex I hereto. February 1978 (3), the Council confirmed these import arrangements pending the establishment of final ar­ 2. Additional quantities for categories 2 and 3 rangements ; combined are hereby fixed and allocated to the Benelux countries and Italy as indicated in Annex II Whereas it has been found that, in the light of the hereto . needs of the Community market, certain of the quantitative quotas laid down by the abovementioned Article 2 Regulation (EEC) No 3020/77 should be increased under the final arrangements ; This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day Whereas it has become a matter of urgency, pending following its publication in the Official Journal of the adoption by the Council of final arrangements for the European Communities.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
