COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 2259/84 of 1 August 1984 suspending advance fixing of the import levy for maize

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN of the quantities which might be expected under more COMMUNITIES, normal conditions ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Whereas the above situation requires that application Economic Community, of the provisions concerning advance fixing of levies for the product concerned be temporarily suspended, Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2727/75 of 29 October 1975 on the common organi­ zation of the market in cereals ('), as last amended by HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Regulation (EEC) No 1018/84 (2), and in particular the second subparagraph of Article 1 5 (7) thereof, Article 1 Whereas Article 1 5 (7) of Regulation (EEC) No Advance fixing of the import levy for maize falling 2727/75 provides that the provisions concerning within subheading 10.05 B of the Common Customs advance fixing of the levy may be suspended if the Tariff is suspended from 2 to 6 August 1984 inclusive. market situation shows that the application of such provisions will or is likely to cause difficulties ; Article 2 Whereas there is a danger that, if existing arrange­ ments are adhered to, levies could be fixed in advance This Regulation shall enter into force on 2 August 1984. in the short term for quantities considerably in excess

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in air Member States .
