COUNCIL REGULATION ( EEC ) No 3734 / 87 of 8 December 1987 temporarily suspending the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duty on certain industrial products

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community , and in particular Article 28 thereof, Article 1 Having regard to the Act of Accession of Spain and Portugal , and in particular Article 32 thereof, The autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties for the Having regard to the proposal from the Commission , products listed in the Annexes shall be suspended at the level indicated in respect of each of them : Whereas production of the products referred to in this Regulation is at present inadequate or non-existent within — from 1 January to 31 March 1988 for the products listed the Community and producers are thus unable to meet the in Annex I , needs of user industries in the Community ; Whereas it is in the Community's interest in certain cases to — from 1 January to 30 June 1988 for the products listed in Annex II . suspend the autonomous Common Customs Tariff duties only partially , particularly because of the existence of Community production , and in other cases to suspend them completely ; Article 2 Whereas , taking account of the difficulties involved in accurately assessing the development of the economic The duties under suspension referred to in Article 1 , reduced situation in the sectors concerned in the near future , these by 60 % , constitute the basic duties on which the Community suspension measures should be taken only temporarily , by of Ten applies the successive reductions provided for in fixing their period of validity by reference to the interests of Article 31 of the Act of Accession to products which are in Community production ; free circlulation in Spain .
