COMMISSION REGULATION ( EEC ) No 3942 / 87 of 22 December 1987 amending Regulation (EEC ) No 637 / 86 fixing the quantitative restrictions on imports into Portugal of certain fruit and vegetables from third countries

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , the volume of the quotas for 1988 should therefore be fixed accordingly ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community , Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Management Committee Having regard to the Act of Accession of Spain and for Fruit and Vegetables , Portugal ,

Having regard to Council Regulation ( EEC ) No 3797 / 85 of HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : 20 December 1985 laying down detailed rules concerning quantitative restrictions on imports into Portugal from third countries of certain agricultural products subject to the system of transition by stages ( ! ), and in particular Article 1 Article 3(1 ) thereof, Regulation ( EEC ) No 637 / 86 is hereby amended as Whereas Article 280 of the Act of Accession provides that follows : Portugal may maintain quantitative restrictions on imports from third countries of certain agricultural products until 1 . In Article 1 ( 1 ), 'for 1987' is replaced by 'for 1988 '. 31 December 1995 ; whereas Commission Regulation ( EEC ) 2 . The Annex is replaced by the Annex to this No 637 / 86 ( 2 ), as amended by Regulation ( EEC ) No Regulation . 3890 / 86 ( 3 ), fixes in terms of volume the quotas applicable in Portugal in respect of certain fruit and vegetables from third countries ; Article 2 Whereas an increase of 10% in the quotas for 1987 is not likely to cause disruption on the Portuguese market ; whereas This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 1988 .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
