COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 3686/88 of 22 November 1988 on the sale at a price fixed in advance of certain boned beef held by certain intervention agencies

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Management Committee for Beef and Veal, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community,

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 805/68 of 27 June 1968 on the common organization of the market in beef and veal ('), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2248/88 (2), and in particular Article 7 (3) thereof, Article 1

Whereas the possibility of permanent intervention in beef 1 . During the period 1 December 1988 to 7 January and veal has led to the build-up of considerable stocks in 1989 the sale shall take place of approximately : the Community ; whereas some of the intervention — 50 tonnes of boned beef held by the ' Danish purchases have been stored in the form of boned meat in order to improve the intervention system in accordance intervention agency and put into store before 1 July 1987, with Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2226/78 (3), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 3492/88 (4) ; — 1 000 tonnes of boned beef held by the French intervention agency and put into store before 1 January 1988 , Whereas Article 2. ( 1 ) of Council Regulation (EEC) No — 12 tonnes of boned beef held by the German 98/69 (*), as amended by Regulation (EEc) No 429/77 (6), intervention agency and put into store before 1 provides that the selling prices of frozen beef and veal January 1987, bought in by the intervention agencies may be fixed in advance ; whereas it is appropriate to make use of this system of selling ; — 200 tonnes of boned beef and veal held by the United Kingdom intervention agency and put into store before 1 October 1987 . The qualities and prices of this meat are given in Annex 5. Particulars relating to the quantities and the places II . where the products are stored may be obtained by interested parties at the addresses given in Annex III. 3. The intervention agency shall first sell the meat which has been in storage longest. Article 2 4. Sales shall take place in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EEC) No 2173/79, and in This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 December 1988 . particular Articles 2 to 5 thereof.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
