COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 2356/89

of 31 July 1989

fixing the maximum buying-in price and the quantities of beef bought in for the fourth partial invitation to tender under Regulation (EEC) No 1627/89

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, market and the seasonal trend in slaughterings, the maximum buying-in price and the quantities which may be accepted into intervention should be fixed ;

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Whereas quantities offered currently exceed those which Economic Community, may be bought in ; whereas a reduction coefficient should accordingly be applied, in accordance with Article 1 1 (3) of Regulation (EEC) No 859/89, to the quantities which may be bought in ; Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 805/68 of 27 June 1968 on the common organization of the market Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation are in beef and veal ('), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) in accordance with the opinion of the Management No 571 /89 (2), and in particular Article 6 (7) thereof, Committee for Beef and Veal,

Whereas, pursuant to Commission Regulation (EEC) No 859/89 of 29 March 1989 laying down detailed rules for HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : the application of intervention measures in the beef and veal sector (3), an invitation to tender was opened for category A by Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1 627/89 Article 1 of 9 June 1989 on the buying-in of beef by invitation to tender (4), as amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2206/89 0 ; For the fourth partial invitation to tender opened by Regulation (EEC) No 1 627/89 :

(a) For category A : Whereas, pursuant to Commission Regulation (EEC) No — the maximum buying-in price is hereby fixed at 2239/89 of 25 July 1989 further transitional measures to ECU 276 per 100 kilograms of carcases or support the beef market in Spain (6), forequarters are half-carcases of quality R3 and at 191 ECU per bought in Spain instead of carcases as provided for in 100 kilograms of forequarters of quality R3 offered Regulation (EEC) No 859/89 ; whereas the maximum in Spain, pursuant to Regulation (EEC) No price for such products should be fixed separately ; 2239/89 ;

— the maximum quantity of carcases or half-carcases accepted is hereby fixed at 2 789 tonnes ; the Whereas, in accordance with Article 11 ( 1 ) of Regulation quantities offered are hereby reduced by 40 % (EEC) No 859/89, a maximum buying-in price is to be pursuant to Article 11 (3) of Regulation (EEC) No fixed for quality R3, where appropriate, for each partial 859/89 ; invitation to tender in the light of the tenders received ; — the maximum quantity of forequarters is hereby whereas, in accordance with Article 12 of that Regulation, fixed at 538 tonnes in Spain . only tenders lower than or equal to the maximum price are to be accepted ; (b) For category C :

— the maximum buying-in price is hereby fixed at ECU 282 per 100 kilograms of carcases or Whereas, after the tenders submitted for the fourth partial half-carcases of quality R3 ; invitation to tender have been examined and taking account, pursuant to Article 6 (1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No — the maximum quantity accepted is hereby fixed at 805/68, of the requirements for reasonable support of the 1 938 tonnes .
