REGULATION (EEC) No 280/72 OF THE COMMISSION

of 8 February 1972

amending Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2196/71 of 13 October 1971 on a derogation from Regulation (EEC) No 2637/70 as regards the period of validity of import licences for rice originating in and coming from certain distant countries

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COM­ HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : MUNITIES , Article 1 Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community ; The following shall be substituted for Article 1 of Regulation (EEC) No 2196/71 : Having regard to Council Regulation No 35.9/67/EEC 1 of 25 July 1967 on the common 'Article 1

organization of the market in rice, as last amended by 1 . By way of derogation from Article 20 of Regulation (EEC) No 2726/71 ,2 and in particular Regulation ( EEC ) No 2637/70 , an import licence Article 10 (2 ) thereof; for the products listed in Article 1 ( a), (b) and ( c) of Regulation No 120/67/EEC and for products Having regard to Council Regulation No listed in Article 1(1 ) ( a ) and (b) of Regulation No 365/67/EEC3 of 25 July 1967 on rules for the 359/67/EEC, other than those mentioned in advance fixing of levies on rice and broken rice, as paragraph 2, for which the application is lodged last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2435/70,4 , and after the entry into force of this Regulation, shall in particular Article 8 thereof ; be valid for thirty days from its date of issue Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2196/71 5 within the meaning of Article 8 ( 1 ) of Regulation of 13 October 1971 on a derogation from Regulation ( EEC) No 1373 /70 .

(EEC) No 2637/70 as regards the period of validity 2. By way of derogation from ; Article - 20 of of import licences for cereals and rice restricted the Regulation (EEC) No 2637/70 , an import licence period of validity of the import licence for certain for the products listed in Article 1 ( 1 ) ( a) and (b) products, including those listed in Article 1 (1 ) ( a ) of Regulation No 359/67/EEC originating in and and (b) of Regulation No 359/67/EEC, to thirty days coming from countries in zone V ( c) listed in from its date of issue; Annex A to Commission Regulation No 694/67/EEC6 of 10 October 1967 redefining the Whereas the export market in the products in destination zones for export refunds on cereals question is particularly sensitive in certain countries shall be valid for sixty days from its date of issue distant from the Community ; whereas to solve any within the meaning of Article 8 ( 1 ) of Regulation difficulties which such countries might experience as (EEC ) No 1373 /70 . a result of the time limit mentioned above, provision should be made for a special period of validity for Sections 13 and 14 of the application for a licence import licences for products coming from these and of the licence itself shall state the country or countries ; countries of export and of origin . This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
