REGULATION (EEC) No 1373 /72 OF THE COUNCIL of 30 June 1972 postponing the date of application of Regulation (EEC) No 1599/71 laying down additional conditions with which imported wines for direct human consumption have to comply

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , wine to the Community ; whereas, in working out those rules, very delicate problems have arisen, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the particularly on account of their complexity and of European Economic Community ; the length of the periods required for completing the administrative formalities to be observed by third countries ; whereas in consequence it does not appear Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No possible to keep to this date and a later date should, 816/701 of 28 April 1970 laying down additional therefore, be fixed; provisions for the common organization of the market in wine, as. last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2722/71 ,2 and in particular Article 28 ( 1 ) (b) HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : thereof;

Whereas Regulation (EEC) No 1599/71 3 as last In Article 4 of Regulation (EEC) No 1599/71 , the amended by Regulation (EEC) No 606/72,4 laid date 1 November 1972 shall be substituted for 1 July down additional conditions with which imported 1972 . wines for direct human consumption have to Article 2 comply ; whereas, under Article 4 of that Regulation, such additional conditions should apply from 1 July 1972 ; whereas in order to adopt detailed rules for the This Regulation shall enter into force on the day application of that Regulation it has proved necessary following its publication in the Official Journal of the to make contacts with the third countries exporting European Communities .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
