REGULATION (EEC) No 1408/72 OF THE COUNCIL of 27 June 1972 fixing, for the 1972/73 marketing year, the threshold prices for husked rice and broken rice and the protective amount to be included in the threshold price for milled rice

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES , Whereas, in accordance with Article 14 (3 ) of Regulation No 359/67/EEC, threshold prices for milled rice are derived from the threshold prices for Having regard to the Treaty establishing the husked rice and include an additional amount for the European Economic Community ; protection of the industry; whereas, taking into account the situation in the Community rice milling industry, it seems appropriate to retain for the Having regard to Council Regulation No 1972/73 marketing year the same protective amount 359/67/EEC1 of 25 July 1967 on the common as for 1971 /72 : organization of the market in rice, as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2726/71 ,2 and in particular Articles 14 (4) and 15 (3 ) thereof;

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to the proposal from the Commission ; Article 1 Whereas, in accordance with Article 14 (2) of Regulation No 359/67/EEC, the threshold price for The provisions of this Regulation shall apply for the husked rice must be fixed in such a way that, on the 1972/73 marketing year. Whereas, in accordance with Article 15 ( 1 ) of Regulation No 359/67/EEC, the threshold price for Article 3 broken rice must be fixed within an upper and lower limit calculated in relation to the threshold price for maize ; whereas, taking into account the relationship The threshold price for broken rice shall be 12-95 thus established and the need to import broken rice units of account per 100 kilogrammes. in order to ensure supplies for the Community, this threshold price should be so fixed that, in round figures, it corresponds to the lower limit; Article 4

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
