completing Regulation (EEC) No 647/72 and laying down the intervention prices lor butter in Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom for the 1972/73 milk year

THE COUNCIL OV THE EUROPEAN COMMUNI­ application of Community rules pursuant to TIES , Article 31 ( 1 ); Having regard to the Treaty1 concerning the Whereas , pursuant to Articles 51 ( 1 ) and 85 of the Act, these provisions shall apply to the accession of new Member States to the European Economic Community and the European Atomic intervention prices for butter and skimmed­ Energy Community, signed on 22 January 1972, milk powder; and in particular Article 153 of the Act2 an­ nexed thereto; HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Having regard to the proposal from the Com­ mission ; Article 1 Whereas Regulation (EEC) No 647/723 fixed Regulation (EEC) No 647/72 shall be completed intervention prices for butter and skimmed­ by the following Article: milk powder for the 1972/73 milk year; whereas , following the enlargement of the Communities 1 Article la this Regulation should be completed; The intervention prices to be applied for Whereas Article 51 (2) of the Act provides that butter until the end of the 1972/73 milk until the first move towards alignment the year shall be: prices to be applied in each new Member State — in Denmark shall be fixed in accordance with the rules 168-53 units of account per 100 kg provided for in the common organisation of — in Ireland the market in the sector in question at a level 172-00 units of account per 100 kg which allows producers in that sector to obtain — in the United Kingdom re urns equivalent to those obtained under the 84-34 units of account per 100 kg'. previous national system; whereas paragraph 3 of Article 51 provides that for the United King­ dom these prices should be fixed at a level such Article 2 that the application of Community rules results This Regulation shall enter into force on in a level of market prices comparable with the Accession . level recorded in the Member State concerned during a representative period preceding the It shall apply from 1 February 1973 .
