altering the monetary compensatory amounts in the beef meat sector

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN Regulation (EEC) No 2113/73 (6), laid down detailed COMMUNITIES , rules for the application of Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 ; whereas the spot market rates recorded for the Italian lira over the period 5 to 11 September Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European 1973 pursuant to Regulation (EEC) No 1463/73 lead Economic Community ; to a change of more than 1 point from the percentage taken as a basis when the monetary compensatory amounts were last fixed ; Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 (*) of 12 May 1971 on certain measures of Whereas Regulation (EEC) No 2249/73 (7) of the conjunctural policy to be taken in agriculture Commission of 17 August 1973 fixing the coefficients following the temporary widening of the margins of fluctuation for the currencies of certain Member for calculating the levy on beef and veal other than frozen and also 2260/73 (8 ) of the Commission of States, as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 17 August 1973 laying down the bases for calculating 1225 /73 (2), and in particular Article 3 and Article 6 the levy on certain kinds of frozen beef and veal have thereof; amended the tariff descriptions for meat; whereas it is necessary to take account of this situation when "Whereas the monetary compensatory amounts intro­ fixing the compensatory amounts ; whereas these duced by Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 were fixed by measures conform to the Opinion of the Management Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2102/73 (3) of Committee for beef meat; 31 July 1973 , as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2361 /73 (4 ); HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION :

Whereas Article 3 of Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 Article 1 specifies that the monetary compensatory amounts must be altered if the difference referred to in Article 2 ( 1 ) of that Regulation changes by at least Part 3 of Annex I of Regulation (EEC ) No 2102/73 1 point from the percentage taken as a basis for the is replaced by the Annex to the present Regulation. preceding determination ; whereas the alteration must be in line with the change in the difference ; Article 2

Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No This Regulation shall enter into force on 17 Sep­ 1463 /73 (5) of 30 May 1973 , as last amended by tember 1973 .

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .

(5) Le montant compensatoire n'est pas perçu dans la limite d'un contingent tarifaire annuel à octroyer par les autorités compétentes des Communautés euro­ péennes : a) pour des génisses et vaches, autres que celles destinées à la boucherie, de la race grise, brune, jaune tacheté du Simmental et du Pinzgau, b) pour des taureaux, vaches et génisses autres que ceux destinés à la boucherie, de la race tachetée du Simmental, de la race de Schwyz, de la race de Fribourg. (5) The compensatory amount will not be levied on animals imported within an annual tariff quota to be granted by the competent authorities of the European Communities : (a ) for heifers and cows, other than those intended for slaughter, of the grey, brown , and mottled yellow Simmental and Pinzgau breeds , (b) for bulls, heifers, and cows, other than those intended for slaughter, of the mottled Simmental breed, the Schwyz breed , and the Freiburg breed . (6) Der Ausgleichsbetrag wird nicht erhoben im Rahmen eines von den zuständigen Stellen der Europäischen Gemeinschaften zu gewährenden jährlichen Zollkontingents : a) für Färsen und Kühe, nicht zum Schlachten, der Rassen Grauvieh, Braunvieh, Gelbvieh, Fleckvieh (Simmentaler) und Pinzgauer, b) für Stiere, Kühe und Färsen der Schwyzer, Simmentaler ( Fleckvieh) oder Freiburger Rasse, nicht zum Schlachten . (5) L'importo di compensazione non è riscosso nel limite di un contingente tariffario annuale da concedere dalle autorità competenti delle Comunità europee : a) per le giovenche e le vacche, diverse da quelle destinate alla macellazione, delle razze grigia, bruna, gialla, pezzata del Simmental e del Pinzgau, b) per i tori , le vacche e le giovenche, diversi da quelli destinati alla macellazione della razza del Simmental , delle razze di Schwyz e di Friburgo . (5) Het compenserende bedrag wordt niet geheven in het kader van een door de autoriteiten van de Europese Gemeenschappen toe te kennen jaarlijks tarief­ contingent : a) voor vaarzen en koeien, niet bestemd voor de slacht, van het grijze ras, het bruine ras, het gele ras, het gevlekte Simmentaler ras en het Pinzgauer ras, b) voor stieren, koeien en vaarzen, niet bestemd voor de slacht, van het gevlekte Simmentaler ras, het Schwijzer ras en het Freiburger ras. (5) Kompensationsbeløbet opkræves ikke i det omfang, en årlig tarifmæssig afgift skal bevilges af de kompetente myndigheder i De europæiske Fællesskaber : a) for kvie- og kohoveder, som ikke er bestemt til slagtning, af grå , brun, gulpletter Simmental og Pinzgau-racer, b ) for tyre-, ko- og kvikhoveder, som ikke er bestemt til slagtning, af den plettede Simmentalrace, Schwyzracen , Friborgracen. (6) The compensatory amount will not be levied on meat imported within an annual tariff quota to be granted by the competent authorities of the European Communities for frozen beef and veal . (•) Der Ausgleichsbetrag wird nicht erhoben im Rahmen eines von den zuständigen Stellen der Europäischen Gemeinschaften zu gewährenden jährlichen Kontingents von gefrorenem Rindfleisch . (•) L'importo di compensazione non è riscosso nel limite d'un contingente tariffario annuale da concedere dalle autorità competenti delle Comunità europee per carne bovina congelata.
