altering the monetary compensatory amounts

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN that the difference has changed by more than one COMMUNITIES , point from the percentage taken as a basis when the monetary compensatory amounts were last fixed ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, Whereas Council Regulation (EEC) No 557/76 of 15 March 1976 on the exchange rates to be applied in Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No agriculture, as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 of 12 May 1971 on certain measures of 1020/76 (7), fixed a new representative rate for the conjunctural policy to be taken in agriculture Italian lira in principle with effect from 3 May 1976 ; following the temporary widening of the margins of whereas this rate and its entry into force should be fluctuation for the currencies of certain Member taken into account when fixing the monetary compen­ States ( J ), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No satory amounts ; 557/76 (2), and in particular Articles 3 and 6 thereof, Whereas, with regard to the Italian lira, the measures Whereas the monetary compensatory amounts provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with provided for in Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 were the opinions of the Management Committees for Milk fixed by Commission Regulation (EEC) No 572/76 of and Milk Products , and for Beef and Veal, 15 March 1 976 (3), as last amended by Regulation ( EEC) No 896/76 (4) ;

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Whereas, under Article 3 of Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 , the monetary compensatory amounts must be altered if the difference referred to in Article 2 ( 1 ) of Article 1 that Regulation changes by one point or more from 1 . In Annex I to Regulation (EEC) No 572/76 the the percentage taken as a basis for the preceding deter­ mination ; whereas the compensatory amounts must columns headed 'United Kingdom', ' Ireland' and 'Italia' are hereby replaced by those set out in Annex I be altered in accordance with the change in this dif­ ference ; to this Regulation .

2 . Annex II to Regulation ( EEC) No 572/76 is Whereas detailed rules for the application of monetary compensatory amounts were laid down by Regulation hereby replaced by Annex II to this Regulation . ( EEC) No 1380 /75 of 29 May 1975 (5), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 571 /76 (6); whereas the spot market rates recorded for the pound sterling and the Article 2 Irish pound pursuant to Regulation ( EEC) No 1380/75 during the period 21 to 27 April 1976 show This Regulation shall enter into force on 3 May 1976.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
