COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 635 /79 of 30 March 1979 prolonging temporary measures for the application of monetary compensatory amounts and differential amounts and amending Regulation ( EEC) No 1036/78
THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN therefore, to prolong the measure taken by Regulation COMMUNITIES , ( EEC) No 514/ 79 until that date ;
Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Whereas the monetary compensatory amounts intro Economic Community, duced by Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 were fixed by Commission Regulation ( EEC) No 1036/78 of 19 May Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 1 978 (9), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 974/71 of 12 May 1971 on certain measures of 547/79 ( io) ; conjunctural policy to be taken in agriculture following the temporary widening of the margins of Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 243/78 of fluctuation for the currencies of certain Member 1 February 1978 providing for the advance fixing of States ('), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No monetary compensatory amounts ( n ), as amended by 557/76 (2), and in particular Article 6 thereof, Regulation (EEC) No 1 544/78 ( u), provides in Article 7 ( 1 ) that the monetary compensatory amounts fixed Having regard to Commission Regulation (EEC) No in advance must be adjusted if a new representative 1516/78 of 30 June 1978 on adjustments to monetary rate comes into effect during the period of validity of compensatory amounts fixed in advance and repealing the certificate ; whereas on 30 March 1979 the Regulation (EEC) No 651 /78 (3), and in particular Council made known its decision to adjust the repre Article 1 (2) thereof, sentative rates for the French franc , the Italian lira, the pound sterling and the Irish pound ; whereas it is Having regard to Council Regulation No 136/66/ EEC necessary, therefore, with effect from 30 March 1979 , of 22 September 1966 on the establishment of a to supplement Annex IV to Regulation (EEC) No common organization of the market in oils and 1036/78 in which the adjustment coefficients appear ; fats (4 ), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No whereas the adjustment coefficients fixed hitherto for 590 /79 (5 ), France in respect of several sectors remain applicable for the advance fixings of monetary compensatory Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No amounts carried out before 30 March 1979 ; whereas , 1569/72 of 20 July 1972 laying down special however, the coefficients published in the past in measures for colza and rape seed (6), as last amended respect of the milk and milk products and the beef by Regulation (EEC) No 852/78 (7), and in particular and veal sectors may be applied only from 9 April Article 2 (2) thereof, 1979, the date on which an alteration in the represen tative rates for the two sectors concerned will actually Whereas by Commission Regulation (EEC) No take place in France ; 514/79 of 16 March 1979 introducing temporary measures for the application of the monetary compen Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation satory amounts and differential amounts on the occa are in accordance with the opinions of the manage sion of the introduction of the European monetary ment committees concerned , system (8) provision was made to maintain the above mentioned amounts until 1 April 1979 at their level applicable since 19 March 1979 ; whereas this measure was taken pending a decision by the Council on the Commission proposal specifying the conditions for HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : applying the ECU in the common agricultural policy ; whereas at its meeting on 29 March 1979 the Council decided to implement the measures in question with Article 1 effect from 9 April 1979 ; whereas it is necessary,

Article 2 2 . With effect from 30 March 1979 , Annex IV to Regulation (EEC) No 1036/78 is replaced by the 1 . In Annex IV of Regulation (EEC) No 1036/78 , Annex hereto . as regards France, the dates '1 April 1979' for the milk and milk products sector and '2 April 1979' for the beef and veal sector are replaced by the date 9 April 1979 : Article J — with effect from 2 October 1978 for the milk and milk products sector, and — with effect from 25 December 1978 for the beef This Regulation shall enter into force on 2 April and veal sector. 1979 .
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .

The adjustments to be made to the monetary compensatory amounts fixed in advance pursuant to Article 7 ( 1 ) of Regulation ( EEC) No 243/ 78
The monetary compensatory amounts in Annex I to Regulation (EEC) No 1036/78 and fixed in advance from 30 March 1979 shall be multiplied by the following coefficients :
