COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 300/88 of 28 January 1988 amending for the first time Regulation (EEC) No 1854/87 fixing countervailing charges on seeds

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, meets the requirements of both the Common Customs Tariff and the nomenclature of goods for the external Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European trade statistics of the Community ; Economic Community, Whereas, as a consequence, the descriptions of goods and Having regard to the Act of Accession of Spain and Portugal, tariff heading numbers appearing in Regulation (EEC) No 1854/87 should accordingly be expressed in terms of the Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2358/71 combined nomenclature ; of 26 October 1971 on the common organization of the market in seeds ('), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation are No 1355/86 (2), and in particular Article 6 (5) thereof, in accordance with the opinion of the Management Committee for Seeds, Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1854/87 (3), fixed countervailing charges on seeds in respect of a certain type of hybrid maize and sorghum for sowing ; HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : Whereas, since that time, a significant variation has been recorded in the free-at-frontier offer prices which, under Article 1 the terms of Article 4 (2) of Commission Regulation Annexes I and II to Regulation (EEC) No 1854/87 are (EEC) No 1 665/72 (4) as amended by Regulation (EEC) No 2811 /86 (*), requires that these charges be amended ; replaced by Annexes I and II to this Regulation.

Whereas Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 (*), intro­ Article 2 duces with effect from 1 January 1988 a combined goods nomenclature based on the harmonized system which This Regulation shall enter into force on 3 February 1988.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
