supplementing Regulation (EEC) No 389/74 and introducing a special export levy on certain syrups

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN sugar markets that special export levy for these sugars COMMUNITIES, and syrups should be fixed at a standard amount of 20 units of account per 100 kilogrammes of added sugar ; Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Whereas the Management Committee for Sugar has Economic Community ; not delivered an opinion within the time limit set by its Chairman , Having regard to Council Regulation No 1009/ 67/ EEC (') of 18 December 1967 on the common organization of the market in sugar, as last amended HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION : by Regulation (EEC) No 2476/74 (2), and in particular Article 1 6 (4) and (5) thereof ; Article 1 Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 389/74 (3) A second subparagraph as follows is added to Article 6 of 14 February 1974, as last amended by Regulation ( 1 ) of Regulation (EEC) No 389/74 : (EEC) No 1383/74 (4) laid down detailed rules for applying the special export levy on syrups and other ' However, in the case of the products specified in sugars ; whereas that levy is applied at present to Annex II, the basic amount of the special export certain of the products specified in Article 1 ( 1 ) (d) of levy shall be 0-20 unit of account per kilogramme Regulation No 1009/67/EEC ; of sucrose content (including the content in other sugars expressed as sucrose).' Whereas in order to reinforce the measures designed to safeguard Community sugar supplies a special levy Article 2 must also be introduced for sugars and syrups other than those to which the levy already applies ; whereas An Annex II as follows is added to Regulation (EEC) in view of the situation on the Community and world No 389 /74 :

Article3¶

In Regulation (EEC) No 389/74, the words 'in the Annex' are, wherever they occur, replaced by the words 'in the Annexes'.

Article4¶

This Regulation shall enter into force on 23 December 1974.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States .
