COMMISSION REGULATION (EEC) No 1558/78 of 5 July 1978 fixing a reduced price for the sale of preserved beef held by the Danish intervention agency to certain institutions and bodies of a social character

THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community,

Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 805/68 of 27 June 1968 on the common organization of the market in beef and veal (1), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 425/77 (2), and in particular Article 7 (3) thereof,

Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2035/74 of 31 July 1974 (3), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 337/78 (4), provides for the sale at prices fixed in advance of certain preserved beef held by intervention agencies to certain institutions and bodies of a social character;

Whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2311/77 of 20 October 1977 (5), as last amended by Regulation (EEC) No 157/78 (6), provides for the sale at prices fixed in advance of certain preserved beef held by intervention agencies ; whereas Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1557/78 of 5 July 1978 (7) on the sale at prices fixed in advance of preserved beef, repealed Regulation (EEC) No 2311/77 ; whereas the provisions on the sale of preserved beef to institutions and bodies of a social character contained in Regulation (EEC) No 2311/77 should be readopted in an amended form in order to enable the Danish intervention agency to continue to sell the preserved beef held by it;

Whereas in view of the use to which this beef is to be put, its selling price must be lower than that recorded on the market for comparable products;

Whereas the measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Management Committee for Beef and Veal.

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article1¶

1. The selling price to institutions and bodies of a social character authorized under Article 1 (1) of Regulation (EEC) No 2035/74 of preserved beef held by the Danish intervention agency shall be 60 units of account per 100 kilograms net weight.

2. By way of derogation from Article 6 (1) of Regulation (EEC) No 2035/74, the security shall be 50 units of account per 100 kilograms net weight.

Article2¶

This Regulation shall enter into force on 10 July 1978.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
